Hello Beautiful Soul,
When my daughter died seven years ago, my world felt like it had shattered into a million pieces. In those early days, someone suggested I try writing down things I was grateful for. I’ll be honest at the time, it felt impossible. My grief was so heavy that I struggled to find even three small things each day.
But I kept going. Some days my list looked like this:
- I am grateful for the message from my son, I know he is okay.
- I am grateful watching the squirrels play in the garden.
- I am grateful I managing two hours sleep.
This list It didn’t seem like much at the time, (apart from hearing from my son daily. That morning text always made the number one on the list). This simple act of gratitude became a lifeline. It reminded me that even in the darkest moments, light still existed.
Now, seven years later, I can easily write down ten things I’m grateful for each day. Gratitude has truly transformed the way I see life, it hasn’t taken away the grief, but it has softened it and made room for joy, peace, and hope.
Why does gratitude matter?
Science shows that practicing gratitude daily can:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve sleep and wellbeing
- Strengthen relationships
- Rewire the brain for positivity
But more than that, gratitude gently shifts our focus. It doesn’t erase pain, but it helps us notice beauty alongside it.
A gentle invitation for you:
If you’re just starting, don’t pressure yourself to write ten things. Begin with three. Write them down each evening before bed. Over time, you’ll notice your list growing—and with it, your light.
And if you’d like guidance and practices to help you deepen your gratitude and healing journey, my course A healing journey is a beautiful place to begin. Gratitude is just one of the many tools we explore together.
Today, I am grateful for you—for reading these words and for walking this path of light and healing. 💛

With love and light,
Lynne ✨
